Another visit to Target, this time for only $76. I know, I rule. I was very tempted by some cute tote bags and tshirts, but I stuck to my list. I've been following Raina Kelley's
"The Freegan Experiment" http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/freegangirl/ (I'll figure out how to properly share other blogs, but for now it's the old copy and paste), and I'm rooting for her (and Ms. Kelley, I don't blame you one bit for the SUV to the Today show, although I'm bummed that I missed your appearance. I mean, 6:30 in the morning! Just get in the car! The guy had to drive back to Manhattan anyway, right?) She's almost inspired me to try this myself, but September is out of the question (3 birthdays). October's also out (2 birthdays, one of them my son's). November? Not good, Thanksgiving is big in our house. December is obviously out, too. So January. Maybe. Maybe just the not buying anything part...I'm not sure if my disposition, which is on the cranky side to begin with, will survive a foray into veganism. Check back on January 2. Maybe I'll need a new name for this, since I'm pretty much positive that the vegan part of Freegan is not even a remote possibility for me. Although without the veganism, I guess we're really just talking about being cheap, aren't we? (not that there's anything wrong with that).
