He may have been asking correctly, wondering if he CAN. :)

I didn't think of that one! I just assumed that he was asking for permission! Anyway, he has total recall for everything I say with regard to what he may and may not do, so when puberty sets in and he decides to grow a mustache, I fully expect to be reminded of the time when he was 6 and I told him that he "may if he can"...
