Merry Christmas!

Yesterday we made our annual visit to the White House Christmas Tree (not the one inside...the public one on the Ellipse) and I'm working on a photo tour of DC at Christmas for those of you who don't get to visit often. Stay tuned...it might take me a few days. I have a lot of wrapping (I HATE wrapping) cooking, etc. to do so it might take all week. I leave you with a photo of my children from 2005...the year that my older son saw the picketers in front of the White House, and spent the rest of the day telling me that he wanted to picket the White House (note the little brother stifling dissent from the Left). When we got home that day, I had to cut up some cardboard boxes so he could make picket signs. We still have them. A political consciousness was awakened.
Merry Christmas!

Oh my. First of all, you are gorgeous sister. Not to encourage that whole Sephora/Nordstrom beauty addiction thing but you've got great skin.

And those children- so cute!!!

The fact that you have made them picket signs just confirms what I already knew... You rock sister.

This is the best. And can't wait for the DC photo spread. I love me some DC but hardly ever get there. In a past version of my life I was there so often too, many years ago!

Red line train to Silver Spring! Duhn-DONG

I told you it was a long time ago!!

Hmmm.. first three letters of verification are cdp. I kid you not!

What a great story! And a fab photo. I love the idea of your son absorbing the idea of dissent on that visit. A future activist - we'll need him.

All the best for the holidays!

P.S. I have neglected to add you to my blogroll. My apologies. You're there now!

I said it before and I'll say it again, that son of yours is a genius. And he and his brother are some handsome lads, their mom is pretty cute too!

Merry Christmas!

Aww...CDP revealed. Simply go-geous (you and the fam)
So with you on the intense disliking of wrapping! After about 2 presents I want to rip all of my hair out.

Oh and those boys of yours...they totally rock!

Have a wonderful holiday!

Although I despise the current residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington is still one of my favorite cities. I've made eight trips there - from Indiana - since September '05 and this April I will be taking my family there for Spring Break - luckily, the kids are too young to know what Spring Break usually means. It will be nice to visit DC without a political agenda for once.

Love that photo! You guys are so cute! Also love DC and am looking forward to getting back there someday. It was our "big" vacation last year and we spent 9 days there.

Hope you had a great Christmas!

1) You guys are adorable.
2) Your son and the picketing thing? Awesome.
3) I kind of like wrapping, until I'm halfway through. Then I hate it.

Hope you all had a great holiday! I've been away for a few days, and I love coming back to lots of comments!
Spartacus--you too!
Fran--thanks! I will get the photo spread up in a few days, I'm on my nephew's computer in Philadelphia now. Merry Christmas!
Dcup--see, it worked out for my son because we watched the "Mission Accomplished" speech live in 2003 (he was not quite 2) and while I was purple with fury, he was screaming "yay!" every time the sailors applauded Bush...now when my husband yells "what's wrong?", he just says "nothing, it's just Mommy yelling at George Bush again"

Dr M--you too! He might end up picketing you one day; I'm assuming that your run will be successful

WM--I was SOOO happy to be done with it, finally. Merry Christmas!

RR--Spring break is the best time to visit, especially since school vacations here are staggered.

Lady--let me know if you come again!

WM--It was pretty awesome, and although I pretty much dislike wrapping from the start, it's about midway through that I start to hate it with a cold fury. Merry Christmas!

I am way behind on blog reading....

This picture is adorable. Your kids are cutie pies and you are beautiful!

I've been to DC a bunch of times (I was in a long distance relationship with a guy up there a couple of years ago) but I've only been to the White House and all the tourist-y sites once. And that was way back in high school. I need to go back up there and visit those places again someday.
