First EVER Giveaway!

You might be watching the Hope for Haiti telethon right now, and perhaps you've already donated generously to help the Haitian people.  If you have just a bit extra, though, and you want to help a blogger in need, please consider donating to Wendy Brandes' fund to assist blogger Janet, aka iheartfashion of je ne sais quoi.  Janet and her family have suffered a devastating loss, and they need some help now.  Wendy has made an incredibly generous offer.  If you purchase one of her adorable Teeny Genie silver necklaces (Look!  It's up there!  It's so cute!)  for $50 plus tax and shipping, Wendy will donate $30 from from each sale to the fund for Janet's family.

I just bought a Teeny Genie, but you know what?  I have enough silver necklaces, including two of Wendy's: the silver lotus (with a pink tourmaline) that I got for Christmas last year, and the silver squirrel that I won in enc's giveaway in December 2008.  So I am going to give this Genie to one of you!  If you can't make a donation, that's OK...I will ask only that you send prayers or positive vibes, in accordance with your own beliefs, to Janet and her family.  If you can donate, that's even better--just visit WendyB and click on the PayPal logo.

If you'd like to win, leave me a comment.  On January 31, I'll draw a name from among all of the commenters.  As long as the winner is willing to email me an address, I'll ship the Genie right out to him or her.  Wendy is very busy taking and filling orders, so I'll let you know if I haven't received the Genie by the 31st.  I'll still do the drawing on the 31st, and will send out your Genie the moment I have it.  So help a blogger in need, with positive energy, love, prayers, cash or all of the preceding as you're able, and get something lovely for yourself, too!

I've been looking at this necklace on Wendy's blog for a few days now, seriously debating spending the money I absolutely do not have on it... But I've been thinking of Janet's story ever since I first heard of it. All my thoughts are with her & if I ever do have any spare money, I'll definitely be donating to her. She deserves all the help she can get!

Sigh, I just gave all my extra dough to graduate school for tuition. Wendy makes awesome stuff though. I think it's so cool you won the necklace my beautiful and talented sister gave away... :D

Ah, how I adore WendyB's work - and this is a great donation on so many levels. If I had any money to spare I would have snapped one up but instead have been sending good wishes as hard as I can.
I can't imagine losing a husband/wife/partner in such a shocking way.
