My last one-sentence post received 179 comments, a record for this blog, and very few of them were in English. Apparently, word verification is a far less than foolproof method of spam prevention. Accordingly, I am disabling it for now. 使自己在家裡,垃圾郵件發送者。

You could try not allowing anonymous posts. That isn't perfect either, but it would stop this particular spammer.
It's much better to disable the anonymous comments.
Wow. I can't believe you had that many of them. Sheesh! Seriously, what's the purpose anyway?

WOW. I wonder if it's just the same spam engine hitting over and over, or different crazy chinese spammers.
It's amazing how much spam there is. When I'm at work, I get at least 100 e-mails a day telling me I can get discounts on viagra. I haven't had any trouble with my blog, but I'm not sure what my settings are.
Although the last post did make me laugh. I've read a few resumes like that.
179? Ack. I'm at work today (my weekly half-day visit) and I have tons of pharmacy spam on my work account. What the heck?
Captchas and word verification stuff drives me nuts. I am not smart enough to read half of the letters so that bugs me. I talk about it in the blog. W.C.C.

Yikes! And I thought I had spam issues (which is why I have word verification AND moderation).
I set my comments so that anything older than 6 days requires comment modification. So far I've been lucky. I say that now and tomorrow I'll be speaking in tongues 187 times.
